One more strike at Air France, one!

Air France customers, be aware! On March 23rd, ten unions called for a strike, the same ones as the last strike during last month which caused 25% cancellation and € 22M to the French airline. So this latter decided to make a new strike, just one day after the French ATC strike.

The reason of this strike is the 6% request of salary increase – 10% for these dear pilots -, or two more hundred euros to offset French – and more globally, European – inflation. The senior management of Air France ensured that “situation will going worst with this new strike”, deploring the attitude of its employees. The perturbations seem all the more inevitable that these ten unions represent no less than 52.6% of employees, furthermore, since four months, ground mechanics service lead intermittent strikes, making the aircrafts checked unmanageable.

The party which asking the biggest part of the cake is the pilots with 10% request of salary increase. In 2013 this latter perceived an average of € 12,796/month, highest ones climbing to € 18,962/month. Airliners Explorers wanted to tell you, Ô dear pilots, that you have to take conscience how lucky you are to work in a great airline such as Air France. Numerous are your colleagues who are flying far more than you, on low-cost airlines for example but not also, with a gracefully lower salary.

The airline doesn’t unveil its configuration but the Portuguese airline have to receive three A330-900 in 2018 and to fly for the first time with its brand-new aircraft in June or July 2018.

A unique motorization is proposed by Airbus for the last version of the A330: the Rolls Royce Trent 7000. Unfortunately, this exclusive contract signed between Airbus and Rolls Royce can repel some airlines for their choice. We remember that Air France hesitated a long time to order Airbus A350s due to its unique motorization with Rolls Royce.
