Today, Jet Airways, the most important private airline in India, started its operations between the French capital city, Paris, and Chennai, the main city of Tamil Nadu’s state. Airliners Explorers was present in Paris CDG airport to present you this brand new flight service today.

The aircraft landed in Paris at 8.10 am and have been welcomed with a beautiful and traditional show, the water salute.

This Paris-Chennai rotation will be operated 5 days a week (Thursday to Monday) in Airbus A330-300 offering 34 seats in “Premiere”, Jet Airways Business class, and 259 seats in Economy class.

The flight 9W 127 will leave Paris at 10:10 am (Local Time) and will land in Chennai at 00:15 am (LT).
The flight 9W 128 will leave Chennai à 01:45 am (LT) and will land in Paris at 08:10 am (LT).

Jet Airways, is in codeshare with Air France, KLM and Delta Air Lines, but will be the only airline to operate the Paris-Chennai link non-stop. Frequent Flyer members of codeshare partners – JetPrivilege (JP), Flying Blue and SkyMiles – will also be able to accumulate and redeem miles with each others.

After that, we are going to the gate C91, where the aircraft and the line have been blessed by a rabbi and a pastor after the famous Indian tradition, the Pooja which is an Indian tradition perpetuated by a Brahman.

Michel Simiaut, General Director of Jet Airways France said the airline is pleased to introduce this new non-stop flight between Paris and Chennai, operated in codeshare with Air France. Franck Golden, the Director of Paris Charles-De-Gaulle airport specifies that ” With the opening of this line by Jet Airways, Chennai becomes the 4th Indian city to be connected live from Paris-Charles de Gaulle after Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi.”

Jet Airways is operating this new flight service thanks to the Airbus A330-300 which is offering to passenger two class, the business, and the economy. If this new route exceeds expectations, we can imagine that the Indian private airline can consider the Boeing 777 option. Regarding this latter, it has been deployed from today between Mumbai and Paris and proposes actually a tri-class service with a First class in addition to traditional Business and Economy ones.

Today Jet Airways has launched different new services:

  • New flight service between Chennai and Paris
  • New flight service between Bangalore and Amsterdam
  • Third daily flight between Mumbai and London
  • Upgrade service between Mumbai and Paris with the Boeing 777 which is replacing the Airbus A330
